I am Keith Westphal.

I am a tech nerd always striving to learn the next big thing in data engineering.

I am currently looking for opportunities to help propel your organization's data strategy to new heights.

I am learning sales strategies and startup practices in my spare time.

Lets make your data more valuable.

The Professional

I have had many roles in my career, I started as an entry level developer but quickly found my talents lie in data engineering and administration. As things have progressed over the last 11 years I have held roles as a team leader, software engineer and data engineer but ultimately I always strive to bring efficiency, speed and above all ROI to everything I do.

Constantly learning I have gained experience in many different data processing platforms including Postgres, Prometheus, Spark, CockroachDB and Snowflake. Through learning all of these different platforms I have slowly gained an understanding of how they each work, what they have in common, and what strategies can be brought forward to bring out the most of every data platform.

My strongest skill is my drive to learn new things, I am always investigating something new in both my professional and personal life. Professionally I am currently investigating sales strategies, SEO, and digital marketing and learning how to combine all three into the ultimate tool to drive business. Secondarily I am learning new programming languages and how to run and operate a startup.

I bring efficiency, speed, and experience to your data infrastructure.

The Person

This is me, my wife Hannah, and my 6 year old daughter Elsie. We have a new puppy named Chicken Nugget and a cat named Twix. As a family we love traveling and finding that next adventure, this photo being from one of our recent adventures to Hot Springs AR to view the 2024 total solar eclipse, it was awesome!

My hobbies include tinkering, wood working, and mountain biking. My recent projects have been a large attic remodel, a new ortho-linear keyboard and trying to plan that next big ride through the woods.

As I have progressed through my career I have learned a thing or two and one of those is about hobbies. I was watching a speed runner work their way through a game recently and thought, “I would love to have someone with that level of dedication and drive on my team”. This made think about what my hobbies say about me. I feel that wood working brings a certain level of care and precision, tinkering brings thoughts of wonder and exploration in learning new things about the world and mountain biking is all about perseverance in the face of obstacles.
